Cotton University

Cotton University, earlier referred to as Cotton College, is a prominent university in Assam that was established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton. This university is approved by UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC. Cotton university provides graduate courses such as B.Sc., B.A., BCA, posgraduate courses M.A., M.Sc., MCA, M.Lib, I.Sc., LL.M.and Ph.D courses in various streams. All courses will be in full time mode. Cotton University admissions to UG programmes will be based on the candidate's performance in the NTA's CUET-UG. Cotton University Guwahati admits postgraduate students based on the results of the Cotton Post-Graduate Entrance Examination (CPGEE) held by the university. The Institute's courses cost between INR 3,600 to 132,600 and are open to a total of 2092 candidates. Candidate must meet the cutoff to get admitted in UG admissions through CUET.

Cotton University Scholarships

Cotton University offers certain scholarships to its candidates. A student's family income certificate, together with other needed documents, is required to apply for these scholarships.

• Post-Matric Scholarship (for Assamese students) - This is a scholarship system that assists Scheduled Caste students in completing their post-secondary education. This plan is centrally sponsored and is carried out through State Government and UT admissions.

• Postgraduate scholarships are awarded to SC/ST students who choose to pursue a variety of professional degrees. Students from these backgrounds are offered the option to attend PG degrees in professional disciplines such as engineering and technology, pharmacy, and management at Indian colleges and universities.

• Single girl children can apply for the PG Indira Gandhi Single Girl Child Scholarship. This scheme is a UGC scholarship scheme designed to support the education of girls. This program pays for the education of a single girl child who is pursuing further education. Under this initiative, financial help of up to INR 36,200 is provided yearly.
