The institution was founded in 1962 and has AICTE approval in addition to UGC recognition.At University UG, graduate, and doctorate programs in engineering, technology, applied sciences, and management subjects are available.

Both UG and graduate programs, University of Technology uses a semester system. The University conduct  even and odd semester ending exams, twice a year to evaluate its students.
