Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University, Guntur

ANGRAU Guntur, also known as Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University, was founded on June 12, 1964, as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU) by virtue of the APAU Act 1963. When it comes to home science and agriculture, ANGRAU is among the best and most highest-ranked  universities. With the support and direction of outstanding academic members, the educational institution has received ICAR and UGC approval.

The institution provides 16 Ph.D. programs, 22 PG degrees, and 4 ug programs in science, engineering, management, and agriculture. Additionally, It provides some diploma programs. Open Distance Learning Courses (ODLC) are another offering of the institute. Admission to the many courses that University offers is determined by entrance exam results in addition to merit. Exams such as EAMCET, AGRICET, and AGRIENGGCET are accepted for admission to Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University. 

12 constituent colleges, 6 associated colleges, 21 constituent polytechnics, and 59 connected polytechnic colleges make up the university. This university is home to 27 research stations and 6 regional agriculture research stations.

Admissions 2024 at University

Admission for University 2024 is now available. The university has an offline application process; in order to apply for any courses, students must go to the official website.

The steps to apply for admission to University are as follows.

Step 1: Go to the university's official website and select the Exams/Results/Admissions option.
Step 2: For PG and Ph.D. courses, click on PG Admission Notification.
Step 3: After being taken to a new page, you can click the application link for the course you want to take.

Step 4: Fill out the form carefully after downloading it.
Step 5: The applicant must complete a different application for every course they wish to apply to.
Step 6: Submit the form to the university with a bank draft (DD) made payable to The Comptroller, Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, payable at Guntur, for each course, for INR 1200/-for General and INR 600/-for SC, ST, & PH categories (M.Sc. / Ph.D. courses) in favor of SBH / SBI / ANDHRA BANK.

Infrastructure at University

Within its wide campus, University provides its students with excellent facilities. Fresh water, a well-stocked library, clean hostels, and more are some of these facilities. The following are the facilities that ANGRAU offers:

Library: There are 11 libraries located at the university's main campus. The University Librarian oversees the operation of the libraries. Assistant Librarians are responsible for the College Libraries and Regional Libraries. Each library has an extensive collection of books, periodicals, back issues, reports, and other materials related to agriculture and related sciences. Some e-materials are being made available online in addition to print materials. The University Library additionally emphasises the electronic distribution of knowledge and the availability of library e-Resources through any network. 

Hostels: The university offers 21 hostels for boys and 19 hostels for girls, with separate accommodations for boys and girls. with 3220 pupils' worth of accommodations available. The hostel accommodations have been providing joyful, healthy, and comfortable stays for the students. Basic amenities including a TV room, reading nook, water purifiers, indoor and outdoor playing areas, medical facilities, round-the-clock wifi, and more are available to all merit-based candidates in the hostels.
