Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University
The Andhra Pradesh State Government G.O. established Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Srikakulam through MS No: 89 Higher Education (UE.II) Department on June 25, 2008, with the goal of enhancing the district's educational resources and meeting the needs of its residents.
With U.G.C. support, University pursued a policy of providing higher education to the underprivileged areas of the Srikakulam District. In 1977–1978, it established 2 PG programs in economics and rural development in Srikakulam under the name and style of Andhra University Post Graduate Extension Centre. Later, it changed its name to Andhra University Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre, and then again to A.U. Campus Etcherla, Srikakulam, and finally to University, Srikakulam.
12 further courses were authorised by the State Government for this Centre; however, only 4 of those courses—M.Com., M. Sc. Mathematics, B.L., and M.L.I. Sc.—were actually offered beginning in the 1988–1989 academic year, and 2 more—M.B.A. and M.L.—were added in 1994. The M.A. Education course began in the academic year 2005–2006, while the M.Sc. Organic Chemistry, M.A. English, and M.C.A. courses were added to the campus by the University Administration in the academic year 2006–2007.
At the moment, the campus houses 20 PG courses to meet the needs of over 1,350 PG students as well as 27 research scholars pursuing Ph.D.s and M. Phil.s.
The university provides programs such as Ph.D., M.B.A., B.Com., and B.B.A.Admission to the courses is determined by merit and is available through both online and offline channels.

Scholarships for University
Since the university is a state-funded institution, it is eligible for all government scholarships. Scholarships are available to students who are financially disadvantaged, cannot pay the tuition, or both. The college also accepts education loans.

Hostels:
For a modest fee, both boys' and girls' hostels are available on campus. Every student receives a personal bed and study table, and the rooms are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis for double and triple sharing. Fast WiFi is available 24/7 on campus. The hostel has clean drinking water available on every floor. Major areas of the campus and the area surrounding the dorms are staffed with 24-hour security. Students and instructors can get fresh, sanitary food every day at the mess. A lunch costs approximately Rs. 35 on average.
