Founded in 1998 as a non-profit public-private partnership (N-PPP), University is an independent university. The school is well-known for both its excellent coding culture and its close proximity to some of India's leading IT firms. India Today Engineering Ranking 2023 has University at number two in the country. University is ranked 55th in the engineering category by NIRF 2023. The 66-acre campus of university is situated in Hyderabad city on Gachibowli Road.

University primary program is a 4-year B.Tech CSE programme. Admission to the program, which has 170 places available, is determined by the combined results of JEE Main and IIITH-UGEE. Campus Housing:

Because the institute is entirely residential, all students are required to live on campus. 5 hostels offer accommodations for students, with the number of beds varying according to the program and year.
