The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is a deemed-to-be university founded in 1984 in Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. It covers an area of 500 acres. NERIST is an autonomous organization sponsored by the MHRD, the Government of India, and accredited by the UGC and AICTE. University Nirjuli is ranked 151-200 in NIRF 2023's "Engineering" category.

University offers 11 science and engineering education departments, as well as one management studies center. The NBA has accredited the undergraduate engineering courses. Admissions 2024 at University

University Course Admission is based on NEE entrance tests administered by the institute at 3 levels. The institute admits students beginning at the basic level, which means that students can apply for University certificate courses after completing Class 10th. To enroll in a certificate course, candidates must take the NEE-I exam.

The institute admits students to its UG degree programs through the NEE-II and NEE-III exams. Candidates applying for admission to the NERIST B.Tech and B.Sc. (Forestry) programs must take the NEE-II test, while B.Tech lateral entry applicants must take the NEE-III exam. Apart from NEE-II and NEE-III, NERIST accepts JEE Main entrance scores for B.Tech admissions.

Furthermore, admission to NERIST's PG programs is conducted through national-level entrance tests. University recognizes GATE entrance exam scores for M.Tech admissions. In contrast, admission to the MBA at University is based on CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT scores, followed by a GD/PI round. The institute administers a written test to PG and Ph.D. students who have not taken the national-level examinations.

Scholarships for University

University offers studentships to students based on need and merit. Students can also apply for the GATE scholarship, NET JRF, or CSIR JRF fellowships to further their research careers. Some of the scholarships offered by NERIST are listed below:

• GATE funding: Any student who has earned his or her master's degree and is enrolled in NERIST's M.Tech programs based on GATE scores is eligible for this funding. The GATE scholarship scheme provides selected students with INR 12,400 per month.
• Ph.D. Scholarship: Ph.D. scholars at university are entitled for a monthly stipend/scholarship benefit of INR 28,000 if selected.
• Studentship: Students pursuing a diploma or bachelor's degree at university may apply for the studentship. 

Campus of University

University Campus is spread over an area of 500 acres. The institute has various facilities such as a Sub-Post Office, a Branch of SBI with ATM facilities, a departmental store, a Canteen, a Medical Health Unit, etc. There are clubs for the faculty & officers. For stationery items, stores are provided in boys’ and girls’ hostel compounds. It also has two Multi-gym, one indoor badminton court, three basketball courts and a playground.

Hostels:

University maintains 10 hostels, 8 of which are for boys and 2 for females. The hostels are within walking distance of the academic buildings. Students are required to pay the hostel mess fees in advance, as follows:
