Assam institution is a government institution established by the central government in 1994. The university's main campus is located in Dargakona, approximately 20 kilometers from Silchar. University is recognized by the UGC, AICTE, and AIU. It contains 16 schools with over 40 departments.

On its campuses and allied colleges, the university provides UG, integrated PG, graduate, and doctoral programs in a variety of areas. University is well-known for its B.Tech. and MBA programmes. Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Main, followed by JoSAA/CSAB Counselling, whereas MBA admissions are based on CUET(PG)/CAT/XAT/CMAT scores. The CUET examination is used to admit students to the majority of University's UG and graduate programs.

University has a campus of around 600 acres. It also has medical college, a health care facility, a high-tech laboratory for science topics, and other facilities.

Note: Seats in every course will be reserved for SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and PWD students at 15%, 7.5%, 27%, and 5%, respectively. The applicant must present legitimate proof of caste at the time of application and document verification.

Admission 2024 at University

University Admission 2024 is open and is conducted in completely online mode. Admissions to most of the UG and PG programs at University campuses and affiliated colleges are done through CUET examination, conducted by NTA. Candidates appearing for the CUET examination must also register on the official website of the university for admissions. Moreover, University accepts JEE Mains scores for admissions in B.Tech courses. University also conducts its own entrance test for admission to various programs such as B.Ed, M.Phil, and Ph.D. The final selection of students is done through merit lists based on entrance exam scores. University may also conduct a personal interview for the final selection to MBA, B.Ed, M.Phil, Ph.D., and other programs.

For the personal interview phase, applicants must provide all original copies of their academic certificates. The institution conducts offline admission drives on its campus to fill vacant seats. Furthermore, admissions to University affiliated colleges follow the same approach.

Results of University

University conducts examinations in September and February of each year. Enrolled students can view their exam results on the university's official website. Students can check their semester results by following the steps outlined below.

Placements 2024 to University

University Placement 2024 has not yet been completed; we will update this page soon it is. University has a specialized training and placement cell that runs on-campus and off-campus placement drives each year. During University Placement 2023, the highest and lowest packages offered to MBA students were INR 10 LPA and INR 4 LPA, respectively.

Eligibility Criteria for ONGC Scholarship :

1st year of Engineering or MBBS course.

 Applicants should not be more than 30 years in age.

- Family income should be less than INR 2 LPA and INR 4.5 LPA for SC/ ST applicants

Eligibility for Post Matric Scholarship Form – SC:

- Students pursuing MPhil, PhD Polytechnic courses in a recognised university are eligible for this scholarship.

- Applicant’s family income should be less than 2.5 lakhs per annum.

Infrastructure of University

In addition to talented academic personnel, University provides promising facilities for its students. The University campus covers more than 600 acres and has excellent facilities. It houses a gym, a career counseling cell, a health care unit, specialized laboratories, and other amenities for students and employees. The facilities provided to University students are as follows.

• Gymnasium to offer the greatest health for students and faculty personnel.
• Career counselling and placement cell: The placement cell conducts a variety of activities that help students prepare for jobs and placements.
• Central library has a total space of 38,700 square feet. The Central library contains knowledge resources for all departments.
• Health Care Centre: Each student is provided a healthcare card, which allows them to access medical services throughout their studies.
• CIL was founded in 2007 with UGC grants, and it provides analytical and laboratory instrument support to all of University's science departments.
