Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University, Guwahati

The Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU) was established in 2005. It was founded under the provisions of the KKHSOU Act of 2005, which was enacted by the Government of Assam and published in the Assam Gazette. It is the 16th of its type, along with IGNOU, and the only state Open University in Northeast India. Its headquarters are at Patgaon, Rani, and Guwahati.

To be admitted to PG studies, candidate must have graduated from KKHSOU or another UGC-recognized university. Candidates must pass an entrance exam for MBA programs. PhD/M.Phil admissions will be based on performance in the written test and viva. Candidates seeking a Ph.D./M.Phil. must have a Master's degree (or equivalent) with at least 55% aggregate marks. Students and faculty have access to a variety of facilities, including the Digital Library and eBidya.

Aside from the courses listed above, the university also offers BBA and BCA at UG level and M.Com at the graduate level. In addition, the university offers a variety of certificate courses and diplomas.

It has almost 18000 print books on many topics. The library is fully computerized, with SOUL 2.0 ILS (Integrated Library System) and Radio Frequency Identification technology.
• eBidya:  eBidya is a Learning Management System (LMS) for university students. It comprises the university's self-learning materials, such as video lectures, online aptitude tests, group discussion platforms, an online chat service, and much more.
