Tezpur University is a central university in Assam, India's northeastern state. The university, founded in 1994, is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an A grade by the NAAC. NIRF 2023 ranks Tezpur University 69th in the university category and 93rd in the management category, while QS Asian University Rankings 2023 places it 351-400. The institution has 27 departments and four schools, including the School of Sciences, School of Management Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Engineering.

University offers UG, graduate, PG diploma, and Ph.D. programs in Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Engineering, and Management. The CUET examination is used to admit students to Tezpur University's UG courses. For B.Tech and M.Tech admissions, the university takes JEE Main and GATE exams, respectively. University administers its own entrance test, TUEE, for admission to all PG, PG Diploma, and PhD programmes. Aside from normal full-time courses, the institution provides remote learning through its Centre for Open And remote Learning (CODL). 

University's placement 2022-23 is currently underway, with 48 participating businesses making placement offers to engineering students. Students who graduated from the university were placed in PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings), core engineering industries, IT and IT-enabled services, manufacturing industries, consultancy firms, finance companies, management organizations, R&D laboratories, NGOs, Central Government organizations, press and media, and educational institutions.
