Ghasidas Guru Located in Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur district, Vishwavidyalaya, formerly known as Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), is a central university. GGU, one of the biggest and oldest universities in Chhattisgarh, was founded in 1983. Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, and many other subjects are among the many programs that University provides at the UG, PG, PhD, Diploma, and Certificate levels. 

Among its highest-ranked programs are the B.Tech, M.Tech, and MBA degrees offered by university. Most university UG and graduate programs need admission through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which is administered by the NTA. The university accepts JEE Main and GATE scores for admission to the B.Tech and M.Tech programs, respectively. 

The 700-acre campus of University, a residential institution, is located five kilometres from the centre of Bilaspur. The campus has facilities like a bank, cafeteria, library, hostels, sports facilities, and health care, among others. University offers on-campus placements to its students; the placement rate is from 70 to 80 percent annually. After the 2023 University placement drives, INR 4 LPA was the highest median wage.

Admissions 2024 at University

Candidate's CUET, UG, and PG scores are considered for admission to university. Within its 32 departments, the government university provides approximately 200 course options. Additionally, a variety of academic fields are covered in the courses, including business, humanities, pharmacy, and biological sciences. Furthermore, University offers a wide range of doctoral or Ph.D. programs. The Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test is used to determine who gets admitted to Ph.D. programs (VRET). Candidates must wait for the merit lists after taking the appropriate admission exams. After the fees is paid, admission is provided to the candidates who made the merit list.

Results of University

Every year, the University conducts exams in the months of May through June and November through December. Enrolled students can use the instructions listed below to check their University results on the official website:

• Go to the University official website . After there, students can browse the notice board alerts by scrolling down.
• The yearly and semester results for every course that has been announced will be visible to students under the results tab.
• From the results tab, the student can download the PDF of the courses they want to take. 

Placements to University

Students at University have access to good placement possibilities. The university's highest median package was INR 4 LPA. Furthermore, in the GGU placement drive of 2023, up to 290 students were placed. University placement unit provides students with interview training and access to respectable organisations. The university offers a number of major recruiters, including  Jio Reliance, Planetspark, TCS, Azim Premji Foundation, Wipro, Hi-Technext, and more. 

Scholarships for Students

Large number of capable and deserving students are given University scholarships. University additionally provides for the needs of its impaired learners by offering an all-inclusive scholarship program. Although the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities is offering this program, students who are enrolled full-time at University are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Campus and Facility of University

With 655 acres of land dedicated to its campus, University offers a plethora of facilities for its students. For its students, the university offers facilities like a medical centre, a central library, dorms, bus services, a functional cafeteria, and more. On campus, University offers staff housing for its instructors as well as a bank and ATM. The following are all of the facilities:

Hostel:    University offers 3 hostels for boys and 3 for girls, each with comfortable furnishings, to accommodate its students. University provides its students with a large hostel facility that has more than 1500 beds. Students must submit application forms in order to be considered for the hostels.

Computer Centre :      Founded in 1990, the computer centre provides the institution with a head start. It boasts more than 50 computers and fast, reliable broadband connectivity. Anytime they would like to use the computer centre, students are welcome to come by. 

Health Centre:      University serves as a medical officer with support staff stationed at the university, taking care of the health of students, staff members, and non-teaching personnel. It offers 24-hour medical care and ambulance services seven days a week.

Bus Service:     University offers its staff and students the best transport options between the campus and Nehru Chowk. 

Cafeteria:       Both guests and students at University have access to a well-run cafeteria. 

Bank, ATM, and Post Office Facilities: University offers its students access to Punjab National Bank and Punjab National Bank ATMs. Additionally, there is a post office on campus.
