Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalay (IKSVV) is among the oldest universities of music, founded in 1956, . Indira Gandhi and the late Priya Darshani gave the institution its formal opening. Scholars of Music, Musicians, Musicologists and a number of noteworthy people mark their presence in the university, acquitting the latest and the greatest in Indian Classical Music. The University's goals are to educate students in all areas of music and fine arts and contribute to the national music movement.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recognised IKSVV, and the NAAC has awarded it "A" accreditation.

The university offers majoring in several areas of music at the UG, graduate, certificate, and doctorate levels. In addition to university-conducted entrance exams, admission to these courses is determined by merit.

B.P.A.

4-year UG degree offering excellence in music is the bachelor of performing arts. The course, which is divided into eight semesters, focusses on learning about various musical instruments.

Eligibility : 12th from any accredited school or its equivalent

MFA/M.F.A.

2-year PG program emphasises the application of many music disciplines. Numerous specialisations, including Bharatnatyam, Odissi, folk music, etc., are offered by the course.

Eligibility: B.F.A. from any university or institution recognised by the government.

M.Phil in Voice, Sitar, Sarod, Violin, Tabla, and Kathak

The M.Phil program is a full-time, 1-year degree that focusses on offering specialisation in particular subjects. The program's focus is on using research approaches to provide hands-on instruction.

Eligibility Criteria: PG in provided disciplines, with a minimum of 50% marks from any government approved institution.
