The Chhattisgarh State Legislature founded the Maharishi University of Management and Technology (MUMT), Bilaspur, in 2002. It is a component of the global education movement founded by Maharishi Ji. The ideal system of education that has been scientifically confirmed and founded in consciousness has been incorporated by Maharishi Ji into the global mainstream of education today. This university is private in nature. Every degree, diploma, and certificate that this university awards is equivalent to the degrees, diplomas, and certificates granted by other Indian universities that were founded in accordance with state or federal statutes. University courses are "life oriented-life supporting," in addition to being "job orientated."
