One of India's best business schools, IIFT Kolkata was founded in 2006 and is renowned for its academic prowess in the study of international business. In the management sector, IIFT is ranked 27th according to NIRF Ranking 2023. In order to offer a faculty and student exchange program, the institute collaborates with about 41 universities and business schools worldwide. 2-year MBA (IB) program, IIFT Kolkata's main course, has a 253 intake each year.

The IIFT Kolkata MBA admissions process begins with the CAT exam and proceeds through personal interview and group discussion. IIFT Kolkata used to hold its own exam for shortlisting candidates but from the academic year 2025, the institute will be utilising CAT scores and the cutoff will be notified when the CAT results are out. The average package fees INR 29.1 LPA, whereas the IIFT Kolkata MBA fees are INR 20.97 Lakhs.

Courses at University

India's premier MBA program in international business is offered at university. During the 2022–24 academic year, almost 400 students participated in this program across all IIFT locations. Of the students, 51% came from engineering backgrounds and 58% had professional experience. There were also a fair number of female students in the class.

Admission at university is based on the CAT exam. The candidates who are interested in the IIFT MBA (IB) program will have to appear for CAT 2023 and based on their scores they will be shortlisted for the Group Discussion/ Extempore and personal interview round.

IIFT Kolkata canceled its IIFT Entrance Exam conducted by NTA every year and the shortlisting for admission is only done through CAT 2023 entrance exam. The following is the CAT cut-off:

Placements to University

University Placement 2023 , around 108 recruiters visited and international offers to the students. The students received more than 17 International offers. The highest package stood at INR 85.4 LPA and the average package stood at INR 29.1 LPA.

Placements to University

According to the placement statistics of the previous year, the placements have been improving consistently. The average package seems to increase every year and in 2023 it increased by 16%. The highest package has also been increasing every year and there was not much difference seen in 2021 and 2022, but in 2023 there was a 63% increase in the highest domestic CTC, which stood at INR 76.5 LPA.

Hostels at University

There are 2 hostels 1 for boys and 1 for girls. The rooms in the boys' dormitory are small and for single-person accommodation?, while the rooms in the girls' dormitory are larger and shared by two people.
