The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is a research institute established in 1999, based in New Delhi. It has established itself as world-class research centre. The university was founded in 1998 under the name TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS). The UGC accorded it "Deemed to be University" status.

Admissions at University

The university provides certificate, diploma, PG, and doctoral courses in various areas. Every year, University conducts admissions for these courses.

  • Admissions will be based on the scores obtained in the qualifying degree, an online test, and an interview performed by the university.
  • The online test will last one hour and will consist of a single paper with 100 multiple-choice questions.
  • The questions will be separated into 3 sections:
  • Proficiency in English
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • Mathematics

Placements to University

The placement cell of university was founded with the goal of researching institutional placement options. There is frequent interaction between classroom and job-related instruction, which helps students prepare for the corporate world. The cell organises pre-placement seminars to attract prospective employers to the campus.

Scholarships for Students

The institution provides limited number of scholarships so that students can strive for academic and professional success. They are offered based on both means and merit. Existing scholarships are granted competitively. The following principles are considered when producing the merit list of selected students:

Note:

An income declaration by self-employed parents/guardians, stating definite income from all sources, in the form of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper. Employed parents/guardians are required to get an income certificate from their employer, and any additional income from other sources must be declared in the form of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper.  

Facilities include a hostel at TERI.

University provides hostel specifically for women. The hostel is large and well-appointed, providing pleasant single and double rooms with adjoining bathrooms. Energy-efficient elements have been placed in the rooms as part of the 'Green Campus'.

TERI SAS Clubs

The Deemed University has 6 active clubs: the Dramatics Club (a), the Elocution Club (b), the Eco-Club (c), the Sports Club (d), the Music and Dance Club, and the Media and Photography Club.

Dramatics Club:   Students participate in events such as street plays and theatre to raise awareness of environmental issues and sustainability.
The Elocution Club was founded primarily to help students improve their public speaking skills, gain confidence, and develop their whole personality. Students participate in various activities, including debates, quizzes, JAM sessions, poetry reading, and writing.

Eco-Club:   Organises and celebrates environmental events and activities such as 'No Plastic Day,' 'Earth Day,' 'International Youth Day', tree planting drives, and so on.
Sports Club: University Sports Club organises the yearly intra-university sports meet. It's a two-week event featuring badminton, table tennis, cricket, athletics, volleyball, football, basketball, and carom. Except for cricket and athletics, which are conducted at TERI Gramme in Gual Pahadi, Gurgaon, all sports activities take place on the Deemed University campus. This encourages a good sportsman spirit among students.

Music & Dance Club:    This club supports artistic interests and showcases student talent. It routinely hosts musical concerts by both students and visiting artists. It fosters and hones students' interest in music and traditional/contemporary dance styles.
The Media and Photography Club strives to raise knowledge about TERI SAS's activities and ideas in the outside world.

Social Cause group:    This group was founded on the initiative of university students to encourage community participation and work for a social cause. In 2016, students organised a clothing donation camp in which not just students but all TU staff members donated items to impoverished children. The money were donated to an NGO. In April 2017, students organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with the Rotary Club. Many university students and staff volunteered to donate blood.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC): This cell developed from the University's 'Ideation Club'. EDC was formed to encourage the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among university students. Skill development, experience exchange, and networking programs are common features.
