The Gujarat National Law institution (GNLU) is a state institution established in 2003 by the Gujarat government. The university is accredited by both the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is affiliated with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), International Association of Law Schools (IALS), Asian Law Institute (ASLI), and Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute. According to India Today 2024, university Gandhinagar is 3rd-best law college.

 At UG level, university provides BA LLB (Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), B.Sc LLB (Hons), and BSW LLB (Hons), as well as LLM and Ph.D. programs. The university also admits students to UG and graduate programs based on their CLAT UG and CLAT PG scores, respectively. Admission to the Ph.D. program is determined on the results of university admission test. The university also provides PG Diploma in various specialisations based on the results of the previous qualifying test. The median package offered to UG and PG students was INR 16 LPA and INR 6 LPA, respectively. Admission 2024 at University

University All UG, PG, and doctorate courses require an entrance examination. Admission to integrated BA / B.Com / BBA / B.Sc / BSW LLB (Hons) and LLM programs is based on CLAT UG and CLAT PG scores. For admission to the Ph.D. program, university conducts an admission test, after which candidates must present a research project and participate in personal interview. Candidates who have qualified for the UGC NET / JRF / GPAT are also eligible for Ph.D. admission at the university.
