Gujarat Vidyapith

Mahatma Gandhi founded Gujarat Vidyapith University in 1920. It has been an official university since 1963. It is situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognises Gujarat Vidyapith for its higher education programs. GVP is located on the Ashram Road in Ahmedabad. GVP has been authorised by the AICTE. It was founded as Rashtriya Vidyapith (National Institute of University Education) in the aftermath of the Non-cooperative Movement. GVP has been accredited by NAAC.

GVP offers education in various areas, from nursery and basic schools to higher secondary, as well as bachelor's, master's, and doctorate degrees. GVP is associated with the Hindi Teacher's Training College.

GVP's education approach involves regular engagement in community work, residential life, social service, basic living, study tours and field studies, hand spinning, and craft training. GVP runs 6 primary and secondary schools to promote Buniyadi education.
