Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla is a well-known university in India. It is certified Grade 'A' by NAAC and UGC recognised. The university has 4 campuses, including a regional centre in Dharamshala. University has given affiliation to 356+ colleges till today. It is the only residential, multi-faculty university in the state that provides formal and distance higher education to the urban, rural, and tribal communities.

University provides courses at UG, graduate, and doctoral levels. Admission to most programs is determined on the results of the qualifying test or University entrance exams. However, University admission to medical programs is based on NEET exam results. For MBA programs, the university also conducts Group discussions and Interview rounds. University admissions to Ph.D. programs are based on the University entrance exam and Interview.

 Admission at University

University provides UG, graduate, and doctoral-level courses in many fields. University admission is dependent on the results of the qualifying or university entrance tests. However, university admission to medical schools is dependent on NEET test results. For MBA programs, the university also does group discussions and interview rounds. • Select the "Admission" option.
• Select the software and click on its name.
• Before clicking on the program, please read the directions for filling out an online application form. A pdf file will open; please read it thoroughly.
• Click on desired program .
• Please check the terms and conditions. After that, you'll be brought to the personal information page.
• Please fill out the personal information first.
• After filling personal information, click the Save button at the bottom of the page.
• The system will produce a unique registration number and submit the password to the registered email and cellphone number. Write it down.
• Now, click the "Move to Next Step" button.
• Fill up your educational information and attach all required documents.
• Now click Submit. 
• Pay the required application fees.
• Submit the application form.
• Take a printout of the application form and store it for future reference.

Cutoff 2024 of University

University Cutoff 2024 has not yet been issued. However, the predicted enrolment for the university MBA program based on the university MAT 2023 cutoff for subsidised and non-subsidized seats.

Results of University

University end-of-semester exam results are issued in July or August. Students can obtain their results online on the university's website. Facilities at University

The library holds total  2,11,685 books. The institute has a good library of over 10,000 volumes on information technology and related topics. More than 3 lac Rs. has been spent to acquire the most recent versions of high-quality books for the students. A decent reading area has also been created for the students. In addition to daily newspapers, the library subscribes to around 20 computer magazines/journals. The Institute Library intends to establish a separate area for e-books, CD-ROMs, and other resource materials in order to serve as a repository for shared products and other learning resources. Students have access to the University's Main Library.

Hostel: University offers lodging in 14 hostels, 4 for males and 10 for girls. There are accommodations for roughly 1058 girls and 589 boys students. All hostels have Mess, Internet access through Wi-Fi and LAN, a Common Room with an LED TV, current periodicals and newspapers, and indoor activities. A dining hall is kept clean so that boarders may eat comfortably.
Guest home: The university provides a guest home for guest lecturers who attend special sessions. The guesthouse includes a total of 27 suites. There is also a dormitory for personnel that accompany guests. The accommodations accommodate 6 people.

Internet Connection: The university provides both LAN and WiFi access. University has been given a dedicated leased line with 10 Mbps capacity as part of the UGC Infonet for Higher Education. The University Institute of Information Technology is connected to the Campus-Wide Optical Fibre Network, which provides access to the internet.

Scholarships for Students

Students Aid Fund: This award is offered to needy students from IRDP/BPL/low-income households, allowing them to continue their higher education at the university level.

Cultural Activist Scholarships: These are offered to 10 students who excel in academic and cultural activities in any of the University's departments.

Sports Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to 16 students who are exceptional athletes in the Teaching Departments.
