Jammu University is a state university in Jammu that has been authorised by the UGC. It was established in 1969 and accredited by NAAC. Additionally, It was ranked 63 among universities in 2023 by NIRF. More than 60 programs in commerce, humanities and social sciences, science, and management are available in UG, graduate, and doctoral levels at the campus. Candiadates get admission to the university's main campus and more than 90 associated institutions based on their performance on the CUET exams. Personal interviews (PI) are organised by the institution for admission to Ph.D. specialisations. The university offers distance learning courses with the aid of the department of distance education.

Admission at University
More than 50 UG, post-graduate, diploma, and doctoral programs are offered by the university. After the counselling procedure, admissions are determined by the results of the CUET exam. Additionally, University's entrance exam and interview constitute the critieria for admission to Ph.D. programs. Only online applications are considered by the university for admission. The student must take the CUET exam after registering. Candidates must stand by for the university to reveal the results of entrance exam together with the list of shortlisted candidates. The counselling and document verification processes must then be completed by the shortlisted candidates. After this, they have to pay the course fees to assure their university seat.

Scholarship for Students
Scholarships are given by the university to deserving and needy students. Fellowships are available to enrolled students with appropriate NET JRFs, and research scholarships are available to Ph.D. scholars.
