University Scholarship

The following scholarships are available from Bangalore University to worthy applicants:

  • Indian Government Post-matric Scholarship: Students from Karnataka who are members of Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes and whose parents make less than or equal to INR 2.5 Lacs per year are eligible.
  • Scholarships for Minorities: Applicants who are members of minority groups (Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Anglo-Indians, and Jains) and whose parents make less than INR 44,500 per year are eligible for reimbursement of their tuition and associated expenses. The Department of Minorities Welfare is in charge of this.
  • Indira Gandhi Postgraduate award: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is in charge of administering this award. Female students who are the only children of their parents will be eligible for this. During the ten months of each year, the recipient will receive INR 500 for each month. 
  • Subject Scholarship: The students with the highest scores on the preceding qualifying exam are awarded one scholarship per class by the university. These come with free shipping, which exempts them from paying for lab costs and tuition alone. In addition, INR 600 is supplied.
  •  Meritorious students in the first through fifth ranks who fall below the Karnataka government's definition of the Below Poverty Line are eligible for the Hon. Vice Chancellor's Merit Scholarship. For ten months in a year, each department at Bangalore University would receive a scholarship worth INR 500 every month.
  • Special Scholarships: These are awarded by the Director of Collegiate Education or the university, as applicable, to the children of government or university employees who pass away while in uniform.

        Two resident physicians staff the J.B. Campus Health Care Center, which also offers the services of visiting specialists.

  • Sports Facility

        The university features a swimming pool, basketball courts, a Kho Kho ground, and a gymnasium with amenities for indoor games. Students can use a cricket stadium with a turf wicket, basketball court, volleyball court, and lawn tennis on the Central College campus. There are about 45 intercollegiate athletic events for both men and women each year. These sporting events attract close to 100,000 students from 398 connected colleges.

  • Hostel

        The number of hostels is seven. In Tumkur and Kolar, there are two hostels for men, while in Kolar, there is one for women. Basic amenities including a common room, TV, and a mess are provided by the university's dorms. Student prefects are in charge of running the hostel canteens. The annual average hostel fee is between 65k and 95k.
