In 2009, the Indian government founded the Central University of Karnataka, one of the newest central universities. The CUK campus is located in the Karnataka district of Kalaburagi and spans 654 acres. Karnataka's central university provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in the arts, humanities, social sciences, management, engineering, and sciences.

The university's programs in BTech, MBA, B.Ed, MTech, B.Sc., and M.Sc. are highly regarded. The NTA administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which is used to admit students to the majority of UG and PG programs at Central University of Karnataka. JEE Main and GATE scores are also accepted by the university for admission to the BTech and MTech programs, respectively.

University Admission

Every year in June or July, Central University of Karnataka opens admissions for all majors. The NTA administers the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which is the basis for admission to the majority of undergraduate and graduate programs. After the CUET exam results are announced, admissions registration opens. Merit lists are then made public by the university using the CUET results. In order to complete the admissions procedures and verify their documents, the selected candidates on the merit list must come to campus. JEE Main and GATE are national entrance exams that Central University of Karnataka recognizes for admission to BTech and MTech programs, respectively. A written exam and a department-conducted in-person interview are the 2 main components of PhD admissions.

Student placements at Central University of Karnataka are satisfactory. The placement and training cell has helped students ace interviews with various companies. As the 2023 employment campaign came to an end, over 500 students were placed with median salaries of INR 5 LPA. Scattered across 654 acres, the Central University of Karnataka campus is situated in the Kalaburagi area of the state. There are 12 academic schools in the university, which are separated into 27 departments. The campus has all the contemporary conveniences, including a cafeteria, health center, bank and ATM, sports facilities, library, labs, transportation, and wifi. • Bank and ATM: On campus at the university, CUK has a specialized Canara Bank and ATM. Savings accounts, student loans, laptops, and other services are offered by the bank.
• Security: To guarantee the safety of the students, the central university has a committed and watchful security community.
• Health care: CUK provides integrated quality health care for university employees, both teaching and non-teaching. Along with the lab and nursing support staff, the doctors are on campus.
• CUK is the central library. Students' horizons are expanded by the central library. Through a remote access login, students can access all of the resources both on and off campus.
• Transportation: To make it easier for employees and students to commute on a daily basis, CUK has a partnership with the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation. 
• The student council, the hostel committee, the anti-ragging committee, and other groups make up the student welfare body. It is designed to support extracurricular activities and the well-being of the kids.
