Nitte University, Mangalore

In 2008, Nitte University in Mangalore, Karnataka, received the designation of Deemed University. The Nitte Education Trust founded a collection of its institutions. One of India's most esteemed statesmen, the late Justice KS Hegde, who served as Speaker of the Lok Sabha and a Supreme Court judge, established the Trust to provide rural youngsters with access to high-quality healthcare and education. The 36 institutions the Trust has built are dispersed among 3 campuses in Bangalore, Mangalore, and Nitte.

The university is accredited with "A+" grade by NAAC, ranks 65th in the NIRF 2023, and appears in the 451–500 rank-band of the QS Asia University Rankings 2023 and the 201-300 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking 2022. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has granted its accreditation to UG engineering programs.According to the QS I-Gauge India Ratings, it has a Diamond rating.

Admissions at University

• The NEET UG score is used to determine admission to MBBS and BDS programs. 12th from an approved board are required for registration in these courses.
• Candidates must have finished their MBBS or BDS program from an accredited institution to be eligible to apply for MD, MS, or MDS programs.
• The NEET PG and NEET MDS scores are used to select these courses.
  In NUCAT 2023, admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, and MCA programs is determined by merit.
• Admission to all other UG and graduate programs is determined by the results of the previous qualifying exam.
• Bachelor's degree is required for PG studies, and 12th from an accredited board are required for UG courses.

Steps to Apply for B.Tech, M.tech and MCA

Step 1: Applicants must fill up and submit the NUCAT online entrance exam, which is available for engineering, M.tech, and MCA programs.
Step 2: Applicants must show up for the Nitte Deemed to be University, Mangalore's NUCAT.
Step 3: Based on the NUCAT Merit List, counseling will be done to fill the seats in each program under the General category.

Facilities at University

Hostel:   The hostels are located near the college and on campus. The rooms are completely furnished for the students, including a bed, a desk and chair for studying, and a cupboard.

Mess:   The hostel has an adjoining mess where students may receive both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Outside food is not allowed at the hostel’s mess.

Medical:    The college's Medicare Scheme covers the students, enabling them to receive free medical care at reputable facilities. These include dental care at AB Shetty Dental Hospital and multispecialty KS Hegde Hospital, which has 1200 beds.

Transportation Facility:    Buses and vans is kept up to date on site. These cars offer staff and students free transportation.

Gym:   A 5,500-square-foot, AC gym is located on campus. It is operational between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Along with equipment including elliptical trainers, rowing machines, exercise cycles, and treadmills, the gym has 3 qualified instructors.

Library:    All students have access to a well-stocked library with books and publications to meet their academic and informational needs.

Sports:    With 400-meter athletic turf track, a football field, basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket, and tennis facilities, the university has an extremely robust sports infrastructure. In addition, there are facilities on campus for indoor games like carrom, table tennis, and chess.

IT Infrastructure:    With strong Wi-Fi connections throughout the campus, the university offers excellent IT infrastructure services to its students.
