NIT Bhopal, also known as the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, was established in 1960. It is a Nationally Important Institute. The Institute was established with the goal of providing the highest caliber of engineering education. The Institute offers B.Tech, B.Plan, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Plan, MCA, MBA, and Ph.D. programs in many specializations. To promote engineering research, it has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with many domestic and foreign businesses, such as DAUTO, Texas Instruments, Ericsson India Pvt. Ltd., DIDACTA Italia, ESIEE Paris, and Crompton Greaves, Bhopal, among others.

A public technical university is univ. It was named a National Institute of Technology in 2002 and an Institute of National Importance in 2007 by the NIT Act. The Ministry of Education, Government of India, is the only sponsor of the institute, which is run by the NIT Council. According to NIRF 2023, MANIT Bhopal, an independent university, is ranked 80th in the engineering category. UG, graduate, and doctorate degrees are offered by university. There is a hostel for both boys and girls on the 650-acre MANIT Bhopal campus.

Admission 2024 at University

Admission to university is determined by national level exams that are accepted by the institute for various UG (B.Tech, B.Plan, and B.Arch) and graduate (MBA, MCA, M.Tech, and M.Plan) programs as well as research programs (Ph.D.). The premier program offered by university is the B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). The JEE Main entrance exam is used to determine admission to the program, and JoSAA counseling comes next. University's CSE JEE Main cutoff is between 7061 and 7877.

 Civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics & communication engineering, computer science & engineering, material science & metallurgical engineering, and chemical engineering are 7 specializations in which MANIT offers full-time B.Tech program. Candidates who want to get admission to the program must sit the JEE Main entrance exam. To be eligible for admission to university`s B.Tech program, candidates must have 12th with at least 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. At the time of admission, the INR 71,068 first-year fee for the B.Tech program at university must be paid.

Placements to University

University has a reputation of providing students with preplacement talks, which are presentations given by recruiting firms to provide them a chance to learn more about the organizations. Its placement policies include the following:

• One Student, One employment: Only one employment may be held by each eligible student for campus recruitment. Students are not allowed to change occupations once they have been engaged by a company.
• Dream Status Policy: The Institute will award Dream Status to certain enterprises based on their market standing and the profile they provide students. Only the Training & Placement Officer can decide if the company is eligible for "Dream Statuses."
• Enterprise firms in the public sector: Regardless of the standing of the company, a student who is selected for a PSU is not eligible for any other company.
• Sponsors of Candidates: On campus, sponsored M.Tech, MBA, MUDP, and Ph.D. students are not allowed.

Scholarships for University

Based on merit, the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) in Bhopal awards financial aid and scholarships to eligible and needy students. The National Merit Scholarship, the National Fellowship for Students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, the Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, the Central Sector Scholarship Program for College and University Students, the State Merit Scholarship, and the Merit Scholarship for Students with Physical Disabilities are some of the scholarships.

After the sixth semester, UG students who have no backlog and minimum CGPA 7.5 are eligible for internships. An internship may be available to up to 10% class. Any additional expansion will not surpass 15% of class strength and will only be considered with the approval of the appropriate Senate Chairman. Only B.Tech/B.Plan students will be eligible for an internship because the B.Arch program currently offers a one-semester internship in the final year. The procedures for making recommendations: The appropriate HOD should be contacted to submit an internship application.

Internships are available to PG students who have 2 semesters of coursework. The applicant's CGPA must be at least 7.5. The candidate should submit a synopsis of the proposed work to be done throughout the internship program. To ensure that the suggested work is comparable to M.Tech dissertation work, the department committee would examine or evaluate the synopsis. The dissertation must be submitted to the department before the candidate is dismissed. When applying for an internship, it's also advisable to get in touch with the relevant HOD.

Campus Life of University

The Institute, which covers more than 650 acres, is situated in the heart of Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Originally established as one of the first 8 Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) in the nation, the Institute was earlier known as Maulana Azad College of Technology. The Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology was elevated to the rank of a Deemed University and granted the new designation "Institution of National Importance" in June 2002 by the Parliamentary NITSER Act 2007. Housing for academics and staff, administrative and institutional buildings, workshops, an energy center, a computer center, a library, and a learning resource center are all features of the well-equipped university campus. MANIT's hostels can accommodate 1,150 femals and 4,000 boys, which can house 1,150 females and 4,000 boys.

University established the Incubation Center with the intention of establishing a startup-friendly atmosphere and encouraging an innovative, entrepreneurial culture. Other general amenities include a post office, bank, retail center, children's school, dispensary, auditorium, guest house, sports complex, playgrounds, and a beautiful lake.
