One of the top universities in Northeast India is Mizoram University. This central university was established in 2001 and has received "A" rating from the NAAC and recognition from the UGC. According to NIRF 2023, University is rated 76th out of the top 100 Indian universities.
Under 10 colleges of study, university offers various UG, graduate, and doctoral programs through 39 operational academic departments. In addition, the university has affiliations with 40 colleges and one constituent institution. Results from national exams or the Mizoram University Entrance Exam (MZUEE) are used to determine admission to all courses. Through its Center for Distance and Online Education, it also provides distance learning. Admission Procedure:
Scores on the entrance exam determine admission to University or its affiliated colleges. For admission to particular disciplines, University accepts national entrance exams such CUET UG, CUET PG, JEE Main, NATA, and GATE. Additionally, University conducts the MZUEE, MZUEEE, and MZU-MTEE entrance exams for admission to its UG/PG, B.Tech, and MBA programs, respectively. The admissions application process is entirely online. Candidates can use the official website to register online.
Distance Education at University
Through its Center for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), the university provides online and remote learning. The online platform of University offers advanced resources and content, including e-notes, e-quizzes, and pertinent links to online learning resources. University provides online UG, graduate, and certificate programs in many subject areas. All University's online degree programs are legitimate and approved by the UGC.
Online programmes at University are of 5 categories:
- For students who wish to learn and make money at the same time, there is an apprenticeship program that offers job-based instruction. Courses like the B.com in e-accounting and the B.B.A. in e-business are among them.
- PG courses in various specializations, including marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, eCommerce, and many more, are offered by master's degree programs.
- 1-year diploma program in information technology, including AI, cyber security, appy development, and the internet of things, is offered by the Executive Diploma Program.
- Executive programs range from 6 months to a year and cover topics like banking, IT, HR, retail operations, and finance.
- 3-month courses on current topics such as computerized accounting, advanced digital marketing, Android app development, etc. are called certificate courses.

Facilities at University
The university offers its students all the latest facilities on its 978-acre campus. The main city of Aizawl, Mizoram, is approximately an hour's drive from the institution. Campus life is peaceful, safe, traffic-free, and ideal for long walks, jogging, cycling, and meditation in the middle of nature. In addition to its academic departments, university features a central library, a sports cell, a medical clinic, an incubator, museums of natural history, and 12 residence halls or hostels that can accommodate up to 100 students apiece. Of these hostels, 7 are geared toward guys and 5 are for females.
