GNDU is UGC-approved institution established in 1969 in Amritsar. It provides graduate, PG, diploma, and certificate programs in various subjects, including engineering, architecture and planning, information technology and software, hospitality and travel, teaching and education, science, and law. University office releases the results on the institution's official website. Candidates can utilize their details, such as their candidate id, to view the merit list and entrance exam results on the official website. Campus at University:

The university campus is active, with various social and cultural activity clubs, including the Drama Club, Dance Club, Food & Fitness Club, Literary Club, Fine Arts Club, Go Green Club, GNDU Talkies, and others. Students with diverse interests are encouraged to join or create their own clubs.

The institution has also built Amphitheatre called "Golden Expressions" where students can express themselves with open microphone. In 2017-18, students actively participated in different Inter-university Youth Festivals, winning at the North zone and national levels.

 The campus hosts the All India Services Centre of Preparation for Competitive Examinations (AISCCE) and the University-Industry Linkage Programme (ULIP), which allows students to do research with industries.

Vehicles are not allowed on campus to create an eco-friendly environment.

University has library that have books from 22 departments. The library is central to all surrounding departments.
