Originally known as Punjab Technical University (PTU), I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University is state university in Jalandhar, India. It was established in 1997 by a state legislature act to advance pharmaceutical, management, and technical education. Originally established as Punjab Technical University, the State Government renamed it I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University in 2015 in honor of the late Shri Inder Kumar Gujral, a former Indian prime minister.

The university provides UG degrees in B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Pharm (Lateral), B.Tech. (Lateral), and B.Arch., and PG degrees in M.Tech, M.Arch., MBA, M.Sc., MCA, MCA (Lateral), and M.A. This university also uses distance learning to deliver instruction.

Admission 2024 to UG Courses:

At UG level, the university provides B.Tech. Degree courses in 5 specializations, B.Pharm. Degree and Lateral Degree courses, B.Tech. Lateral Degree courses in 5 specializations, and a B.Arch degree program.

For admission to B.Tech, a candidate must have 12th in science discipline with at least 50% marks. Admission to B.Arch is based on the NATA entrance exam. For B.Arch.,12th with mathematics and score at least 50% marks. Admission to B.Tech is based on the JEE Main entrance exam. For BTech (Lateral), candidates must have Diploma or B.Sc. with at least 45% marks. For B.Pharm, candidates must have Diploma or 12th with Physics and Chemistry as required courses.

Admission to B.Pharma (Lateral) requires Diploma in Pharmacy with at least 45% marks. For B.Tech and B.Pharm (Lateral) programs is on a straight basis. Applicants who meet the Punjab Technical University's cut-off score are invited to participate in the counselling procedure.

Key Points:

• All SC/ST applicants are eligible for the 10% relaxation.
• Final-year degree students who are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.
• To be eligible for a B.Arch course, candidates must have scored 80 out of 200 on the NATA exam conducted by the Council of Architecture in New Delhi.

Admission 2024 to PG Courses:

At PG level, the university provides MBA, M.Tech in 4 specialties, M.Sc. in 4 specializations, MCA, MCA (Lateral), M.A., and M.Arch degrees.

For M.Tech degree courses must have B.E. or B.Tech. degree in the relevant branch or equivalent with at least 50% marks. To be eligible for the MBA, MCA, and MCA (Lateral) programs, candidates must be graduates (10+2+3) in any subject with an aggregate grade point average of 50% or more. Candidates for M.Arch, M.A., and M.Sc. courses must have a B.Arch, B.A., or B.Sc. degree in the relevant branch with minimum 50% or higher.

The University conducts the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)/CET to select candidates for M.Tech courses. For MBA courses will be selected based on their CMAT scores. For M.Pharm must have B.Pharm with at least 55% marks. Admission to the courses is based on GPAT scores.

Admission to M.Sc. is based on exam and personal interview performed by the university, but admission to MA is based on personal interview only.

The merit list will be generated based on the candidates' performance in the entrance exams. Candidates that meet the cut-off score will be contacted for the admissions process. The University will conduct counseling, and candidates who meet the cut-off score will be invited to finish the admissions process.

Admission 2024 to Ph.D. Program:

The university provides Doctorates of Philosophy in 10 areas. To apply for the ME (Research) and Ph.D. programs, candidates must have master's degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification with minimum 60% or equivalent CGPA from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.

Selection is based on previous academic results, a synopsis, and a personal interview conducted by the university.

Admission Procedure 2024:

To participate in the admission process, candidates must submit online application through the official website. The merit list will be generated based on the marks obtained by candidates in the Entrance Exam.

The provisional and final merit lists will be available on the organization's official website. Applicants will be invited to the counselling process based on their merit list. Seat allocation will be fully based on the merit list and available seats. After seat allocation, candidates must report to the college for document verification and payment of academic fees.

Admission to all courses is based only on the results of entrance exams, which are conducted either through the Centralized Counselling Procedure or at the institute level.

Register as a new user and log in with your email address and password.
After that, candidates must confirm the application form at the facilitation center.
The provisional and final merit lists will be available on the organization's official website.
In the event of a discrepancy, candidates may file a grievance at the facilitation center while the provisional list is shown.

Candidates must log in to fill and complete online option form with their preferred colleges and courses.
CAP is held in three rounds, and once a college is assigned, candidates must report to the given institute to confirm their admission.

Candidates should contact the in any difficulty to Admission Center In-charge.
Candidates shall have their completely completed Admission Form examined at the Admission Cell/Admission Data Entry Center.
Submit the Admission Form, all original documents, and the payment slip to the Administrative Office/Admission Data Entry Center.
After finishing the process, candidates must collect the Confirmation letter from the Admission In-Charge.

The Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training of the Punjab Government will establish reservation criteria for admission to all programs offered at University.
